Virtu Ferries has announced that all its trips to and from Sicily on Monday have been cancelled due to the bad weather that is expected.
The Met Office is forecasting winds of Force 6-8 from the East South East on Monday.
In a note on its Facebook page, the company said it will be operating extra trips on Sunday to make up for Monday's cancellations.
Just last week, rough seas led to the cancellation of trips to and from Sicily which led to empty shelves in some supermarkets which import food and other items from there.
The rough seas also led to the suspension of Gozo Channel services between Malta and Gozo last week. The Gozo Channel ferries were also constrained to take longer routes behind Comino for several hours.
