The health of our people will be a priority for a new Nationalist Government, PN leader Alex Borg said Friday. As Nationalist Governments have always done, we will invest to strengthen healthcare services while continuing to reinforce the partnership between the private and public sectors.

During a visit to DaVinci Hospital in Birkirkara, Borg stressed the important contribution made by private clinics and hospitals such as DaVinci, both in the private healthcare services they provide and in the public healthcare sector.

He said that the significant investments made by hospitals like DaVinci are not only commendable but are invaluable to healthcare provision in our country.

Borg had the opportunity to speak with the hospital's management about the challenges they face in their operations, as well as about their ambitions to continue expanding the range of services offered to patients across different fields.

He met with hospital staff and visited the various departments, where he was able to see how DaVinci's management has consistently built on new services, enabling it today to grow from an imaging clinic to what is now a small general hospital with integrated services. Among the services offered apart from X-rays, and ultrasound, are specialist services and more.

The hospital is served by 10 specialists from different fields and also includes a pharmacy and operating theatres. The CEO of Da Vinci Hospital later clarified that it has 110 consultants, not 10. 

Accompanying the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista on this visit were the Shadow Minister for Health Stephen Spiteri and the Shadow Minister for Preventive and Primary Care Ian Vassallo, together with Partit Nazzjonalista candidate for the next general election Paul Mazzola.

This visit forms part of a long series of visits being carried out by the Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista, including within the private sector, so that the PN continues to develop policies that safeguard private investment-investment which not only sustains the various services in our country but also continues to provide employment for many workers while making an important contribution to the national economy.
