BirdLife Malta said Monday it has received the European Innovative Teaching Award 2025 in School Education at a special ceremony in Brussels for our Erasmus+ project Blooming Schools.

This project brings biodiversity into schools, creating wildlife-friendly gardens and empowering students to learn by doing and become active environmental citizens.

The award was received by Stefania Papadopol on behalf of BirdLife.

BirdLife said it was honoured to be part of the ceremony, hearing inspiring words from Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General of DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, and European Commission Executive Vice-President Roxana Minzatu , who presented the awards.

This award celebrates collaboration for nature-based learning, showing how schools can make a real difference for nature.
