Post-secondary and tertiary institutions have announced differing measures as severe weather continues to affect the Maltese Islands.

The University of Malta said that, despite the current conditions, all examinations scheduled for Tuesday, 20 January will proceed as planned, urging students to follow official university channels for any further updates.

All MCAST lectures will be held online on Tuesday, as a precautionary measure in light of the extreme weather, the institution informed students in an email.

Meanwhile, Junior College announced that it will remain closed on Tuesday for the safety of students and staff.

The institution said that all activities and lectures are expected to resume on Wednesday.

As Storm Harry batters Malta, Minister for Home Affairs Byron Camilleri held a press conference on Monday, advising all members of the public to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

Following Monday morning's red alert, the Minister has said that in the coming hours, the Maltese islands will be hit with extreme weather. These strong winds are expected to peak during Monday night, at around 1am. Some rain, thunder, and hail are also expected.
