Gozo Channel ferries resumed normal service on Wednesday evening as the weather conditions improved significantly, the company said.

On Wednesday morning, the government announced that the service was back in operation, but it was stopped soon afterwards because the seas were still too rough.

Later in the day, the company announced that it was operating on an "emergency service." On Wednesday evening, the service was back to normal but the company said that delays were to be expected.

The service was suspended all through Tuesday because of Storm Harry, with strong winds and rough seas endangerung the safety of passengers and crew.

In another development, Gozo Highspeed announced that due to the severe damage caused by the weather to the Ta' Lieese terminal in Valletta, the fast ferry service is suspended until further notice.

Ta' Lieese terminal is currently closed to access, the company said.
