Marsaskala councillor Celine Camilleri has described the devastation left by Storm Harry in Wied il-Għajn as the worst she has ever witnessed, warning that several roads remain unsafe and public transport routes have been disrupted.

"The situation in Wied il-Għajn is the worst I have ever seen in my life," Camilleri wrote on a Facebook post Wednesday, as she said that she was doing her best to gather information on the progress of the situation and keep residents updated.

She said that Triq ix-Xatt will remain closed for now, until it is properly cleaned, explaining that since the waves are quite strong and there is no shielding, there are times when a substantial amount of seawater is coming in.

Camilleri also warned residents that public transport services have been affected, as it is currently not going up the Żonqor side.

Meanwhile, Triq iż-Żonqor has been described as being in "a dangerous situation," due to pieces of the pavement which have been destroyed.

Marsaskala was one of the worst affected localities in the gale-force winds which battered the country on Tuesday.
