Voluntary organisations affected by Storm Harry are being urged to register details of any damage sustained, as the government moves to assess the impact of the severe weather on the sector.

The Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering, through the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS), has launched a call for organisations that suffered physical damage or other negative effects following strong winds and rain that hit Malta and Gozo earlier this week. Registered and compliant voluntary organisations are required to submit details through a form available on the maltacvs.org website by no later than Wednesday, 28 January 2026. Submissions must include photographic evidence of the damage.

The information collected will be used to assess the extent of the damage and determine what assistance may be provided. The initiative forms part of the government's wider response to the storm.

Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering Julia Farrugia said the storm had affected a number of voluntary organisations and their infrastructure, which play a crucial role in social and community work. She said it was important to obtain a clear picture of the situation to ensure assistance could be allocated in a fair, effective and timely manner.
