Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg obtained the highest number of votes among all candidates of all parties.
He secured 9,614 first-count votes on the 12th district, the first time he contested there, and 12,211 first-count votes on the 13 district, his home district, for a total of 21,825.
Prime Minister Robert Abela obtained 11,839 on the second district and 9,843 on the fifth, for a total of 21,682.
Borg obtained 143 votes more than Abela.
