Malta to provide financial aid to Venezuela earthquake victims

Tuesday, 30 June 2026, 18:35 Last update: about 24 days ago

Malta will be providing financial assistance to support humanitarian relief efforts in Venezuela following a series of devastating earthquakes that struck the country last week.

In a Facebook post, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Chris Fearne said that the government will channel aid to affected communities through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The support is intended to strengthen ongoing emergency operations and help thousands of people impacted by the disaster.

The earthquakes, which caused widespread damage across parts of Venezuela, have left many families displaced and in urgent need of shelter, medical care, and basic supplies.

Humanitarian agencies have been working on the ground to assess needs and deliver immediate assistance in affected regions. Malta's contribution adds to international relief efforts coordinated through global humanitarian networks, as countries and organisations respond to the scale of the emergency.
