The OASI Foundation has welcomed the opening of Seba’ Sema f’Kull Staġun, a new early childhood education centre that places screen-free learning and real-life experiences at the core of its educational philosophy.

In a statement, the Foundation described the initiative as an important step towards fostering healthier childhood development by encouraging young children to learn through play, exploration and direct interaction, rather than through digital devices.

The Foundation said that the early years of a child's life are crucial in shaping healthy development, relationships, learning and future behaviours. It stressed that creating environments where children can explore, play and engage with others without relying on screens helps establish positive habits from an early age.

The OASI Foundation particularly praised the centre's commitment to avoiding screen exposure, instead promoting creativity, independence, communication and social skills through meaningful real-world experiences.

As an organisation dedicated to prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles, the Foundation emphasised that prevention begins in early childhood. It said initiatives that recognise the importance of a child's environment and experiences during these formative years deserve recognition and support.

The Foundation congratulated Seba’ Sema f’Kull Staġun on its approach and expressed hope that the initiative will encourage broader discussion and inspire similar efforts to create healthier, more balanced and developmentally appropriate environments for children across Malta and Gozo.
