Two people were seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon after a motorcycle accident in Attard.

Police said they were informed of the accident at around 4.30pm in Triq l-Imdina.

Preliminary investigations found that a 26-year-old Italian man, who lives in San Ġwann, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle with a female passenger when he lost control, causing both of them to fall onto the road.

The woman's identity has not yet been established.

A medical team and ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and both victims were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment. They were later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Renata Farrugia has launched an inquiry, while police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
