The search for Susan Mary Borg came to a tragic end early this morning at around 00:30 when a lifeless person was spotted in a garigue field on the edge of Triq in-Nixxiegħa, Mellieha.

It was later confirmed to be Susan Mary Borg, who was unfortunately certified dead at the scene.

Borg had been reported missing to the police on Sunday.

Police investigations indicate that foul play is being ruled out, meaning third-party involvement is excluded at this stage.

Magistrate Dr Renata Farrugia was informed of the case and has appointed an inquiry, while police investigations remain ongoing.
