The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants Annual Restaurant Survey is now open, giving diners the opportunity to vote for their favourite restaurants in Malta and Gozo.
Open from 1 to 30 September 2026, the survey invites diners to share their experiences of restaurants they have visited during the past 12 months. Votes can be submitted at www.restaurantsmalta.com.
Whether it is a long-standing favourite, an exciting newcomer, a memorable special-occasion venue or a much-loved neighbourhood restaurant, every vote helps recognise the establishments that make Malta and Gozo's dining scene so diverse.
Supported by VisitMalta, Bank of Valletta p.l.c. and the Malta Food Agency, the annual survey provides the basis for The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo. Covering everything from traditional local eateries and casual restaurants to fine-dining destinations, the guide helps both residents and visitors discover some of the best dining experiences across the Maltese Islands.
Diners are asked to rate their chosen restaurants for Food, Ambience and Service, each on a scale of 1 to 10. They can also nominate restaurants and individuals in a range of special categories, including:
- Best Maltese Food Restaurant
- Best Restaurant for Business Entertainment
- Best Value for Money
- Most Romantic Restaurant
- Most Child-Friendly Restaurant
- Best Restaurant Restroom
- Most Pet-Friendly Restaurant
- Best Chef
- Favourite Wine List
Participants are also invited to include informative or entertaining comments about their dining experiences.
By taking part, diners will help determine which restaurants are featured in the 2027 edition of the guide. The results will identify Malta and Gozo's top 150 survey-rated restaurants, each of which will receive a complimentary listing. The top 40 restaurants and special award winners will also be recognised at the annual gala awards ceremony in December 2026, marking the official launch of the new guide.
