Luciano Spalletti's side struggled to capitalize on numerous chances during a scoreless first half before Nico Gonzalez broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute.

Having entered the match just five minutes prior, Gonzalez initially struck the far post with a venomous effort before reacting quickly to drill the rebound past Parma keeper Edoardo Corvi via a deflection off defender Mariano Troilo. F

ellow substitute Teun Koopmeiners then wrapped up the three points in the 88th minute, sweeping the ball into the net just a minute after replacing the injured Andrea Cambiaso.

Elsewhere in Serie A, newly-promoted Frosinone spoiled Fiorentina's centenary celebrations with a 3-0 away win, featuring a brace from Antonio Raimondo.

Udinese claimed their first victory of the campaign by defeating Monza 3-2 away from home, and Sassuolo edged Torino 2-1 courtesy of a 78th-minute winner from Domenico Berardi.

Following these fixtures and with half of the league still to play in the second match week, Juventus and AC Milan share the top of the table with six points apiece.
