A 38-year-old man sustained serious injuries yesterday evening following a traffic accident in Triq il-Missjunarji Maltin, Mosta, the police said Friday.

The accident took place at around 6.30pm, when emergency assistance was requested after a collision occurred between a Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by the man, and a Toyota Hiace, driven by a 51-year-old woman resident of Rabat.

The motorcyclist received first aid on-site from a medical team and was transferred to hospital via ambulance, where he was later certified as having suffered serious injuries.

Police investigations into the accident are currently ongoing.
