Minister for Infrastructure, Planning, and Work Jonathan Attard presided over a consultation meeting organized by the Identità Agency, bringing together civil society representatives to present and discuss the core pillars of the agency's upcoming strategy for the 2027-2032 period. The event provided an open forum for stakeholders to offer observations, raise key points, and submit proposals aimed at refining future public services.

Minister Attard highlighted the critical role Identità plays in the daily lives of citizens, emphasizing that the conclusion of the current strategy provides a valuable opportunity to build on progress, address areas for improvement, and prepare for upcoming challenges. He stressed that the new roadmap must set clear priorities to guide the agency's operations while keeping digitalization and investments in Artificial Intelligence at the centre of its transformation.

The vision for the coming years focuses on adopting advanced technologies and systems to reduce red tape, simplify procedures, and shorten waiting times. However, Minister Attard reaffirmed that these operational enhancements will not compromise identity security, personal data protection, or necessary anti-fraud controls.

Identità Chairperson Marlene Mizzi reiterated that boosting efficiency and maintaining national security remain top priorities, assuring attendees that all feedback gathered during the session will be thoroughly evaluated by leadership.

Chief Executive Officer Edric Zahra added that continuous communication with direct and indirect stakeholders is essential for growth. Presenting the strategic vision, Zahra affirmed that the initiative successfully strengthened dialogue and collaboration, empowering stakeholders to contribute directly to shaping the agency's future direction.
