It seems the situation has been greatly improved by the developments which led to the unions joining forces and submitting one common counter-proposal. There are hopes that the next meeting, set for Tuesday, will help settle many of the outstanding issues.

A spokesman for the IT and Investments Ministry said there is ‘satisfaction’ on the government side that the unions and their proposals recognise the seriousness of the financial situation of the company.

Once agreement is reached, the efforts of everyone will be needed to get the airline to do better in the coming months and years.
