The delegation includes Dr George Vella, senior delegate in the Socialist Group in the European Parliament, Joe Mifsud, international secretary and Helena Dalli, MLP spokesman on women’s rights.

Last night the MLP delegation was involved in the preparations for the appointment of the PES presidency, which is made up of 33 representatives from countries who are already EU members or who will become so on 1 May.

Dr Vella has been nominated to form part of the presidency, a position that needs to be approved tomorrow.

This afternoon, Dr Sant will take part in a discussion with other Socialist leaders on the future of Europe. The MLP delegation will also have several bilateral meetings with representatives of other European socialist parties.
