The police, acting on anonymous calls, went to the scene where the men were allegedly stealing from cars.

The three thieves jumped into a green Ford Cortina and drove off, with the police giving chase. At one point, when the cars were in the Lapsi area, the thieves crashed into the police car, causing both vehicles to come to a halt.

By this time, the two policemen had called for help and with the assistance of colleagues they arrested the three men.

One of the policemen was slightly injured.
