The attack took place just before 5pm, when a Group 4 armoured vehicle was effecting value collections from a location at Marsa Industrial Estate. As the Group 4 officer was leaving the premises carrying the value, two hooded men ran in his direction.

The swift reaction of the security officer enabled him to get into the vehicle and shut the door, which resulted in the assailants trying to enter the armoured vehicle with their weapons, but to no avail. The would-be robbers eventually ran off. During the incident no one suffered injuries and no items were stolen.
