Ozgur Hazicioglu, 29, pleaded guilty to filing a false police report when he knew that the allegations he was making were unfounded.
Hazicioglu admitted the charges before Magistrate Joseph Cassar and was placed on probation for one year.
Police inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted.
