Child’s Play Etix increasingly popular

Malta Independent Sunday, 2 January 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The electronic Lufthansa ticket, Etix, is becoming increasingly popular and the advantages are obvious.

Because it's the same story every year: Christmas stress! If a journey by air is involved, the passenger is well advised to have his ticket issued as an etix.

It can be booked comfortably, flexibly and at short notice, there are no deposit fees, the service charge is eight euros less than that of a normal ticket, it does not have to be collected or mailed and, above all, it cannot be forgotten or lost.

The increasing numbers being used proves the success of the electronic ticket: in the meantime, more than 57 per cent of all Lufthansa tickets issued in Germany are etix.

In November 2004 alone, more than 88 per cent of the tickets for German domestic flights were electronically booked, for Europe the figure was 60 per cent and for intercontinental flights more than 26 per cent.

Lufthansa’s objective is to sell only electronic tickets by the end of 2007.
