Dronca May move to Gozo

Malta Independent Saturday, 8 January 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Stripes’ Romanian defender Lucian Dronca could be on his way out of Maltese football this month.

Rumours are rife that a Gozitan club, Victoria Hotspurs, are showing keen interest in obtaining his services.

It is said that the transfer has not yet materialised just because the Stripes will be one foreigner short if they allow him to leave now.

In fact, it is reliably understood that the Stripes are making efforts to get a new foreigner as early as next week. If that is confirmed, then it will become possible for Dronca, to move to Gozitan football.

Meanwhile Msida St Joseph are still harbouring hopes of reaching some form of agreement with the Stripes over the transfer of striker Jean Paul Mifsud Triganza.

Msida want him on loan till the end of the season, but the Stripes will only accept a direct sale of the player.
