I refer to the article entitled MRA chairman resigns, written by Mark Micallef (TMID 28 January), and wish to make certain clarifications.

My resignation from the chairmanship of the Malta Resources Authority on 7 December was not related in any manner whatsoever to the reasons which Mr Micallef attributed to “government sources”.

May I reiterate that my resignation was only motivated by personal reasons.

Therefore, any other allegations as to the contrary are rebutted since they are totally unfounded.
