Qui-si-Sana Roads

Malta Independent Friday, 11 February 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Over the past two years, all the roads leading to Tigne’ Point have been closed to traffic and pedestrians. This was done to enable MIDI to develop their project. Residents in this area and Tigne’ Sea Front (near Fortina Hotel ) who were adequately served by Bus No 63. have to use bus stops near the Preluna Hotel or Bisazza Street.

It would have been expected that the MIDI developers, rather than giving priority to building commercial residences, should have built these roads. In fact, a number of flats have been completed in the south.

Sliema local council will no doubt seriously consider our inconvenience and take all necessary measures to restore these roads with the least possible delay, but it is beyond their direct control.

Urban Development and Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett, during his recent visit to MIDI headquarters, should have taken up this matter to accommodate these residents.

Meanwhile, we are organising a demonstration near the MIDI offices to show our disapproval.
