It was not at all surprising that Giov. DeMartino, wrote (TMID 3 February), reminding one and all about what was happening in Malta 25 years ago under a Labour Party government.
In fact, he would obviously find it impossible to enthuse over what this government has succeeded in doing to this country: Taxes, taxes, more taxes, contributions, eco taxes, tariffs, surcharges, Mater Dei, unemployment, a bankrupt economy etc., etc.
Remember that we, the lesser humans of this island, were promised by people of DeMartino’s ilk, heaven on earth, money no problem, a better quality of life etc. etc.
Mr DeMartino can rest assured that the workers remember with nostalgia when, 25 years ago, their problems were much less acute than they are today.
