Go mobile is sponsoring the much-awaited Maltese production, Ir-Rewwixta tal-Qassisin, which is returning to the Manoel Theatre after 19 years since its first performance.

Written by Alfred Buttigieg, Ir-Rewwixta tal-Qassisin was considered as the best original play by a Maltese playwright in the 1980s. Alfred Buttigieg has now revised his play and teamed up with director and producer, Michael Fenech, to adapt it to a didactic yet enjoyable musical for today’s times. Musical director and composer Manoel Pirotta will additionally interpret Alfred Buttigieg’s lines in a satirical, Brechtian manner. Considered a classic in Maltese literature, Ir-Rewwixta tal-Qassisin has also been included as a compulsory text in the Maltese Matsec syllabus.

The musical will be held at the Manoel Theatre today and tomorrow.
