Hundreds of people paid their last respects to former PN Cabinet Minister Joe Fenech, who was laid to rest yesterday after a funeral ceremony in St Helen’s parish Church, Birkirkara.

President Edward Fenech Adami and Mrs Fenech Adami, together with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Mrs Gonzi, led the funeral congregation.

Politicians from both sides of the house attended the service, including Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg, IT and Investment Minister Austin Gatt, parliamentary secretary Tonio Fenech, MLP Leader Alfred Sant, and MPs Leo Brincat and Anglu Farrugia.

The Speaker of the House Anton Tabone and President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici were also present, as well as PN secretary-general Joe Saliba and PN director of information Gordon Pisani.

Mass was celebrated by Attard parish priest Dione Cutajar, who was accompanied by various concelebrants.
