May I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the residents of Valletta who gave me their first preference vote during the local council elections on 12 March.

It is indeed an honour to be elected three consecutive times, this time round being elected on the first count. I take this opportunity to thank not only Labour supporters but also the Nationalist ones who decided to ignore the directives of their party to vote for Nationalist candidates and instead voted for candidates who “delivered”, regardless of their political colour.

Once again I thank you all for my personal triumph as well as the victory obtained by the Labour Party in other localities. May history repeat itself at the general election.
