British Airways have once again agreed to sponsor the Marsa Open Tennis Tournament, 35+ Open and the Club’s very popular Handicap Tournament. The Open Tournaments are sanctioned by the Malta Tennis Federation.

For seven whole weeks which commenced on 10 April and ending on 29 May, members of the Tennis Section Committee of the Marsa Sports Club composed of the ladies trio of Antoinette Pace, Louise Dowling and Anna Gusman, together with Oswald Tanti, the Open Tournaments Referee, will have an arduous task organising around 14 events.

All Malta’s national players are taking part in the Open events.As for the top Ladies the Marsa Open will further help them in their training programme for their participation in the Federation Cup which is being held in Turkey from next Monday.

The prize money in respect for the Open Singles events will be of Lm260 for the Men’s winner and Lm100 for the runner-up, and Lm150 for the Ladies’ winner and Lm80 for the runner-up.
