A Sad day

Malta Independent Monday, 9 May 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Noise pollution, especially that produced by cars with defective or modified (sic!) exhaust systems has reached an alarming level.

This practice goes on, unchecked, despite apparently more stringent VRT tests. It is undoubtedly a cause of stress and inconvenience, especially to old and sick people.

Apparently it also affects animals, having driven a horse so crazy that it slammed into Portes de Bombes to its death.

During the same day Porte de Bombes manifested the works of another, more vicious and primitive animal, who is still alive and free to go around dragging us all down, as a nation, with him.

He comes from the same breed of animals that about two years ago unleashed their primitive instinct on Mnajdra temples. They are also still about and around.

A sad day indeed, and I still believe that the majority of the Maltese people uphold and practice much more noble values but the gap is apparently closing instead or widening despite joining the most culturally advanced nations in the world.
