Roderick Muscat continued showing an improved standard when in the San Martin Mass Start held yesterday he outstripped his nearest rival and Andorra team mates, Dermot Galea and Etienne Bonello, by at least two minutes.

Muscat’s time was 1:40: 33 over 7 laps.

Stephania Magri justified her choice for the Bedford races due next weekend by surpassing all female opposition by four minutes (1:25:41).Graziella Muscat was second

The Masters Division(40+) has now been sub-divided also into Veterans (50+) as the race sponsors Centrepoint Cycles wish to pay homage due to persevering stalwarts.

The winner (more than 10 years above the dividing line) is deservedly Philip Borg of Qormi CC one of the oldest established clubs of Malta.

In the Juniors Section (16 to 18) there was a difference of only a few second between the first three placed.

The best under 15 was as expected Christian Formosa who led away from his followers, Luke Galea and Adam Naudi, by a wider 3 minutes.

On the programme there are now two international events - the GSSE in Andorra where there will be A TT on 31 May and A MSo n 1 June and the Bedford Ladies Weekend from 28 to 30 May. The next local event will be a Mass Start on the Zurrieq Circuit due on 12 June.
