ICON Studios Receives Microsoft partnership

Malta Independent Wednesday, 8 June 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

ICON Studios (www.icon.com.mt) received the esteemed Microsoft Certified Partner award during a conference entitled “Outperform your Competition” held at the Waterfront Hotel last week. Pierre Mallia, Microsoft’s business development manager for Malta, congratulated ICON Studios for achieving this award in record time and for having successfully completed independent platform testing for its core SNAP technology with the multinational testing giant, Veritest.

Commenting on this Ian Castillo, a director of ICON Studios, stated that the adoption of global best practices and industry standard technology through its newly acquired Microsoft status has helped ICON Studios to offer its clients an unwavering commitment to quality and has, in turn, brought high-end IT solutions to a wide selection of the local market.

During the conference ICON Studios unveiled its new set of business tools, named SNAP. SNAP takes a revolutionary approach to web development by going beyond a mere content management system and enabling its users to take control of a vast array of web enabled processes and applications.

Due to its modular build, SNAP allows the “plugging-in” of further applications or third party software to extend its functionality.

A key business advantage of SNAP is that, apart from a solid support plan, any future system upgrades are rolled-out free of charge to subscribed clients, thus extending the product life cycle beyond most other locally available systems.

With a four hour workshop on Internet Technologies and Applications, the conference sported a line-up of distinguished speakers including George Sammut from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Leonard Zammit Munro from MTA, Michael Zammit Maempel from GVTH Advocates, Engineer Christian Sammut from Innovate, Ruth Vella from Malta Enterprise as well as Rolan Micallef and Stephen Grech from BOV.

Topics covered during this workshop included deriving strategic value from IT projects, understanding the new e-commerce paradigm, web metrics and customer conversion techniques, growth trends in Internet-tourism, the legal parameters imposed by IT regulations, infrastructure outsourcing and government support for local SMEs embarking on IT projects.

Commenting on the event and themes discussed, Gege Gatt, a director of ICON Studios, remarked that technology is changing the lifestyle of consumers and their expectations of business.

Through SNAP business tools, ICON Studios is empowering its clients with digital tools which help accelerate their business and outperform their competition.
