Is The customer always right?

From Ms J. Camilleri

I refer to the letter by Henri Saliba , director of Virtu Ferries (TMIS, 19 June). I would like to point out that it is not stated in the conditions of contract that the vessel can sail before the stipulated time indicated on the ticket.

I arrived 20 minutes before the vessel’s departure and not eight minutes as Mr Saliba stated. It seems that the ship’s manifest (passenger list) had already been delivered to the port authorities at this time.

The amount I paid for two day return tickets was Lm56 including the Lm6 charge I had to pay for each ticket to be re-issued.

Furthermore, I confirmed the departure date for my second ticket and chose to pay the Lm6 charge on each ticket because I was told in the most unpleasant way that if I did not choose to do this both tickets would no longer be valid.

I was under the impression that the customer is always right!
