The Nationalist Party College of Councillors has expressed its satisfaction with the changes to be made with regard to regulations covering illegal dumping. The new regulations will mean increased fines for offenders, with the money paid in fines to go towards environmental projects.

The college is pleased that an education campaign will be launched to inform the public about the new regulations and new fines.

The introduction of eco-wardens is a qualitative step forward as this will mean better protection for the environment, it said.
