What happens the day after a referendum on rent laws?

Harry Vassallo says nothing about this.

But, if 50 per cent do vote and a majority votes “yes” (admittedly difficult), the rent laws would have to be repealed.

The day after, all tenants will be faced with a simple choice: pay up or get out! Is that what Harry Vassallo wants?
