Noise Pollution in Marsascala

Malta Independent Friday, 22 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Noise pollution is being created by a couple of bars and restaurants. One is in the centre of a public playing field and the other noise polluter is none other than the waterpolo pitch.

Day in, day out, these restaurants are producing loud music in order to lure clients to their restaurants.

I am sure that loud uncontrollable music, apart from being a nuisance to neighbours in the area, will surely keep people away from their restaurants. In the evening, people would he happier if they are left enjoying fresh air, sipping a drink or eating out quietly as they always used to do.

If restaurateurs want to lure clients, they should offer cleanliness and value for money and clients will flock to them – as can be seen with other restaurants in the vicinity.

It is up to the good people of Marsascala to speak up and stop these abusive people from turning this village into a slum.

Landlords renting out these premises should apply disciplinary rules that are observed.
