I live in Hamrun and for the past hour and even now as I write, we in Hamrun are surrounded by a wall of noise caused by festa fireworks.

It started around an hour ago, presumably to ‘celebrate’ the new church in Sta Venera.

No sooner had that abated that we found ourselves in the middle of two huge and terrible barrages of fireworks going on at the same time – one from the Qormi side and the other from Msida.

No further remarks are needed.
