Local FIBA commissioner Leonard Falzon will be in action in the European sphere today as FIBA nominated him to be the commissioner during the Division A European Women Championship qualifying game between Italy and Belgium to be played in Avellino.

This match is valid for Group B of this Additional Qualifying Round where ten countries are divided into three groups and are aiming to win the last two available spots in the European Women Championships which are to be held in Antalya, Turkey, in early September.

Three teams make up Group B and up till now only one match was played where Slovakia handsomely beat Italy on their home soil 82-66.

Falzon will in charge of the FIBA team of referees composed of Spaniard Vincente Bulto and Swiss Fabrizio Bellinzona.
