Ferdine Fava, an-18-year-old from St Julian’s, was recently crowned the new Miss World – Malta in a contest organised by Modelle International under the direction of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja.

This is the only contest which entitles a Maltese representative to participate in the Miss World International Beauty Pageant. This year’s Miss World will be held on 10 December in Sanya, China, in a building which seats 7,000. Known as the Miss World Theatre, it was built in the shape of a crown and Malta will be competing here along with 110 countries, in front of 2.5 billion viewers.
