Let’s use Thinking Skills to see why we make friends

Name of the thinking tool for this week:

Why use A.P.C?

To make an effort to create possibilities.

Ask, “How can I do it differently?” “What other choices do I have?”

Now make a list. Let’s work an example together J

Try an A.P.C. - Appreciating Ourselves.

Let’s make a list of the reasons why we have to appreciate ourselves.

We need to think about the times when we did something good by being helpful, kind, or thoughtful.

When we took part in activities that make us feel good such as hobbies, reading, sports, or spending time with good friends.

We are not so afraid of failing that we don’t try something new. New experiences can help us grow and discover wonderful new things about ourselves.

When we do fail at something, we don’t have to get down on ourselves. We have to think about what we can learn from the experience and how we can do better next time.

We should think about things we do well. We have to take pride in our successes.

Remember, the most important thing about people is what we’re like inside, not what we own or what we’ve accomplished.

Your list could be much longer. Ask yourself “Can I still find new ways/other possibilities?”

Now try another exercise. Do an A.P.C. on choosing a new hobby? What alternatives do you have?
