Hockey: Malta In 5-1 win

Malta started its Euro Nations Challenge tournament in a positive way yesterday as they beat Cyprus 5-1 in their opening encounter.

In yesterday’s other match, Azerbaijan defeat Denmark 2-1.

Tony Tabone’s side led 1-0 at the interval, but then took the game in their hands in the second half, especially after scoring two goals when they were a man short.

Josef Antonelli helped himself to four of the goals; the other was scored by David Agius.

In the other match, Denmark took the lead in the first half, but Azerbaijan came back strongly in the second half to score twice and end up deserved winners.
