Croatian football association officials, players and journalists were very much concerned about the incidents that occurred at the Ta’ Qali national Stadium soon after Wednesday night’s match.

MFA president Dr Joe Mifsud told The Malta Independent that the Croatian FA president and other officials had expressed his disappointment at what had happened.

One Croatian journalist was probably speaking in the name of the other journalists when he said: “These fans were a disgrace to Croatian football this evening. Today I I feel ashamed to say that I am a Croat. Despite the result, there was no reason for such bad behaviour on the part of the Croatian fans.”
