Malta Independent Sunday, 2 October 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

St. Andrew’s and St. Patrick figured obtained a point each in this rather dull encounter, with St. Patrick still running after their first seasonal victory.

St. Patrick are disappointing, and they must improve a lot in their coming matches to avoid relegation worries.

On their part St. Andrew’s played their best match yesterday, even scoring their first goal of the season.

St. Andrew’s forged ahead on 18 minutes through a great shot from Anthony Galea that beat Mintoff in the St. Patrick goal.

Six minutes later St. patrick obtained the equaliser when Costa Brazilino was tripped by Sank, and from the resultant penalty captan Robert Cassar converted in style.

At the start of the second half, Mintoff effected a great save off a close range shot by Borg Olivier, and on the other end Thomas Caruana missed a sitter from two metres, with an open goal at his mercy.
