Ira Losco’s German tour came to end with a great show in Metzigen last weekend where she pumped a 30 minute set that rocked an audience of over 20,000. This concert, which was headlined by Melanie C, together with German chart toppers US5, Joanna Zimmer and Kate Hall, brought to an end a highly successful live tour that kicked off in June. “This was the perfect way to end the tour. My band and I gave it all we had and the crowd just went wild! After the show we met with Melanie C and her band and partied with them till the early hours of the morning, that was cool!” said an enthusiastic Miss Losco.

Playing main support act to international stars like Elton John, Katie Melua, Simple Minds, Ronan Keating, Mark Owen (Take That) and Melanie C, this is the first time that a local artist together with an all Maltese band has played as many as 22 events to audiences of 2,500 to 80,000.

“It is incredible that Ira has played all these great festivals. We are all living an experience any band would dream of. The audience reactions have been more than encouraging and she has already been invited to the same events and others next year. This tour has definitely been a success for all of us,” said Howard Keith of Bridge Productions.

Early this summer Ira successfully supported Katie Melua, who has become one of the biggest success stories of 2005 and selling over 1.8 million albums in the UK. She was then invited to play two unplugged sets as the only support act once again in Hamburg and Bonn.

Accompanied by Howard Keith (piano), Tobias Bublat (percussion), Alex Mallia (acoustic guitar) and Nadienne Sacco (bass), both shows received rapturous applauses and encores, winning her praises from the media present, as the best support act they had seen this summer. Ira’s constant powerful performances continue to impress her booking agency Peter Reiger who are responsible for such international superstars such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and many more.

“Ira Losco has developed into a great artist and it is encouraging to see the positive reaction from the crowds with various sections singing along to the songs. It is a satisfying reward for all the hard work and sacrifices that have been made. We can now look forward to next year when she will be releasing her album in Germany. The indications show that she will have bigger and better gigs that will take her to the next level,” concluded Paul Zammit Cutajar.

Currently Ira Losco is putting the final touches to her second album that will be released on 16 November at a press/launch party in Axis, Paceville.

Ira Losco is supported by Vodafone, British American Life Insurance, Guess, PRS Guitars, Laney and Revlon. Visit www.iralosco.com.
