Five players have been ruled out by injury from Mark Miller’s squad for today’s match against Bulgaria at Ta’ Qali (kick-off 7pm).

They are David Camenzuli, Christian Cassar, Shaun Tellus, Ryan Mintoff and Ian Zammit.

The coach could not announce his starting formation because some players were not yet declared fully fit.

However, it could possibly be the following, in the circumstances:

Reuben Gauci, Alex Muscat, Jonathan Caruana, Andrei Agius, Clayton Failla, Shaun Bajada, Gareth Sciberras, Roderick Bajada, Paul Fenech, Cleaven Frendo, Andre Schembri.

Miller said yesterday he hoped his boys would repeat the performance they had produced against Croatia, even if that ended in a narrow defeat.

He added: “I hope, however, that they take the chances which they might create. It was some wasted chances that led to the defeat against Croatia.”
