These pitches were officially opened by the Hon. Tonio Fenech Parlamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Birkirkara FC Youth Nursery Honorary President Mr. Geoffrey Montebello, Birkirkara F.C. Chairman Mr. Victor Zammit and Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery Chairman Mr. Henry Bray.

Birkirkara F.C. Youth Nursery Chairman thanked the numerous volunteers who all helped in realising this dream come true. Henry Bray also thanked the board of Directors of the mother club, Birkirkara FC for their assistance.

Mr. Victor Zammit thanked the Nursery for their continuous efforts in seeing this project become a reality and asked for more support from the various government entities.

The Hon. Tonio Fenech, Parliamentary Secretary stated that he was more than satisfied in seeing such projects carried out for the benefit of the younger generations and he was proud to have assisted in this project, on behalf of the Maltese government.

The grounds were then blessed by Dun Vincenz Demicoli, the clubs Spiritual Director and two commemorative plaques were unveiled.

These pitches are equipped with the latest available UEFA approved synthetic grass and necessary light equipment for one to enjoy playing the game of football.
