The “One Day” Doubles’ tournament, kindly sponsored by Anjelica’s Comfort and Beauty Clinic of B’Bugia, was held recently at the Kordin Tennis Club.

This year’s event attracted an encouraging great number of participants, which included 18 in the Men’s section and another 18 in the Ladies’. In the Men’s section, both groups finished their Round Robin phase with two teams in Group A, and three teams in group B, having the same number of points.

In the semi – final, Richard Magri/Antonio Muscat beat Marc Vella Bonnici/Horace Portelli (5-2) and Darren Buhagiar/Tanti Nicholas beat Simon Rutter/Cassar Lawrence (5-2).

The final was won by Richard Magri/Antonio Muscat who beat Darren Buhagiar /Tanti Nicholas (5-2)

In the two semi-finals of the Ladies’ Doubles, Carmen Elden/Christine Scerri beatErica Azzopardi/Roseanne Portelli (5-2) while Anna Fava/Christine Piscopo beat Loren Falzon/Marcelle Borg (5-1).

Carmen Elden/Christine Scerri won the final beating Anna Fava/Christine Piscopo 5-4

At the end of the competition, Mr. Horace Portelli presented the prizes which were kindly donated by the sponsors to the winners of both sections and to the semi-finalists.
