Bottom-placed Mosta registered their first win from 12 games against a disorganised Greens side.

Mosta drew first blood on four minutes through Ishmael Cutajar who lobbed the ball past Greens keeper Luca Grech after receiving a cross and two minutes later Antoine Vassallo headed in a second goal after a Cutajar flagkick with the Greens defenders doing the stands till act.

Floriana pulled one back on 19 minutes through Edward Falzon who shot past Mosta keeper Christian Russo after beating two defenders, but five minutes later Mosta scored a third goal when Kyle Kershaw put Adrian Borg through who lobbed the ball over Grech.

On 32 minutes the referee standing in midfield awarded a penalty to Mosta. Cutajar was put through in the area. Grech was late in his sortie but still smothered the ball, lying with his back facing the onrushing Cutajar who tripped himself and the official ordered the penalty which Glenn Gauci converted.

Three minutes after restart, Mosta scored a fifth goal through substitute Matthias Vella who lobbed the ball over Grech who was well out of his position after a Borg through ball, and two minutes later Floriana were reduced to 10 men as Jamie Portelli was shown the red card for a vicious foul on the Mosta keeper.

In a Floriana raise attack substitute Patrick Grech crossed to Andrea Grech but his shot missed the upright.

On 67 minutes Mosta scored their sixth goal when Jonathan Muscat crossed to Adrian Borg who scored from inside the area and two minutes before the end Floriana scored a second goal through Owen Bugeja after beating a defender.
