Currently in Moscow at the Regional Development Centre for an EAA training camp, in preparation for the World Indoor Championships, promising junior athlete Charlene Attard under the guidance of coach Leandros Calleja, shattered the record established last year at the European Indoors in Madrid by Therese Mallia by 0.19 seconds. Charlene clocked 7.77 seconds in the semi-final of the Eduard Gregorian Memorial being held at the same venue of the 1980 Moscow Olympics in Izmailovsky Park. Attard is accompanied in Moscow by popular athlete, TV presenter and coach Xandru Grech.
